The Panther softball team won two games by a big margin on Friday as they defeated Ovid-Elsie 15-0 in three innings and 12-2 in seven. In game one, the Panthers scored five in the first, and two in the second, before a huge third inning plated seven Panther baserunners to end the game at 15-0. Alma was aided by ten walks by the Marauder pitcher. Senior Bree Brown, junior Emma Ceja, and sophomore Emmy Vanblaricum all had two hits in the opener, with Brown, Ceja, and junior Taylor Kinnunen all scoring three times. Freshman Amanda Efaw threw a three inning perfect game in the opener. In the nightcap, the Panthers led 6-2 going into the final inning before exploding for six more runs to make a 12-2 final. Senior Justina Moreno led the way for the Panthers with three hits and a walk. Ceja added three hits and scored three times. Sophomore Evelyn VanDemark added a pair of hits and three runs. Vanblaricum got the win in game two, going all seven and striking out 13, while allowing two runs. The Panthers will conclude their TVC campaign on Friday when they travel to Chesaning for a matchup with the Indians.
