ALMA - The Alma girls soccer team took on Midland Bullock Creek on Wednesday, and fell 4-1. The game was played pretty evenly in both possession and shots on frame, but the Lancers were able to make more of their opportunities. The Panthers struck first, as freshman Sydney Hanson dug a ball out of the defensive end before carrying up the sideline, cutting across 18 and burying the ball upper ninety to make the score 1-0 at the 30 minute mark. Creek would answer back with a goal in the next five minutes, and it looked like the score would head into the break level at 1-1. A desperation launch from 30 yards out, however, would find the twine as the horn sounded to give Creek a 2-1 advantage. Alma would not be able to find net again, and Creek would answer with two more to make the final score 4-1. Alma is now 3-5-4 on the season, while Bullock Creek improves to 6-5. Alma will be back in action Friday, when they travel to Big Rapids to take on the Cardinals.
