ALMA - The Alma baseball team traded wins with Ovid-Elsie on Tuesday, as they won game one 5-0, before falling 5-3 in the nightcap. Senior Zach Hanson improved to 8-0 on the season as he got the nod in game one, going seven innings and striking out ten while allowing just two hits. The Panthers (11-11, 5-7 TVC Central) scored five runs in the first two innings, and then cruised to the 5-0 victory. In game two, the Panthers fell behind 5-0. In the third, Alma scratched across three runs with two outs. Alma threatened a couple more times, but failed to get another run across. Junior Chester Fillhard got the loss, going four innings and allowing five runs (three earned). The Panthers will wrap up their conference season on Friday. Alma will travel to Chesaning for a 4:00 first pitch with the Indians.
