ALMA - The Alma baseball team split a pair of games with Gladwin on Monday. In game one, the Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the second as a squeeze bunt brought home freshman Damon Anguiano, but the guests answered back with one to tie the game. Alma would again scratch across a run in the third, but in the top of the fourth Gladwin exploded for five runs. Sophomore Konner Vedrode took the tough-luck loss on the day. In game two, Alma took an early lead and never looked back. Alma scored two in the first, and added five more in the second to take a 7-0 lead. The Panthers would add two more in the sixth, before sending Gladwin down 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh to take a 9-0 victory. Senior Zach Hanson (10-0) got the win, going seven in the nightcap. Alma will be back in action of Wednesday, when they host St. Louis for a 4:00 p.m. start at Alma College.
