ALMA - The Alma baseball team split with Freeland on Tuesday, as they lost 3-2 in game one before winning the nightcap 8-2. The Panthers are now 9-9 on the season, and 3-5 in the TVC Central. In game one, sophomore Konner Vedrode got the tough-luck loss, despite going six innings, and allowing just one earned run. In game two senior Zach Hanson improved to 5-0 as the Panthers manufactured five runs in the fifth to blow the game open at 7-2. Sophomore Tristan Villalobos would pick up three RBI on a squeeze bunt, and then add another on another bunt an inning later to make the game 8-2. The Panthers will travel to Swan Valley on Friday to take on the Vikings.
